Chocolate Wood Covers Solid Wood Bedrooms With Imported Stock and Sydney-Built Custom Pieces
Manly Vale, Australia - October 3, 2026 / Chocolate Wood /
Chocolate Wood, the Australian furniture retailer with a showroom in Manly Vale, Sydney, offers two ways to buy solid wood bedroom furniture: imported stock ranges, and custom-made pieces built at its Riverwood, Sydney factory.
Two Ways to Buy
The imported stock ranges come in four timbers - mahogany, messmate, oak and recycled elm. Recycled elm is reclaimed timber, remilled from timber that has already had a life, which gives each piece its own character. These ranges cover beds, bedside tables, tallboys, dressers and wardrobes, and they are not made to order.
For buyers who need a specific size or prefer a different timber, Chocolate Wood builds custom-made pieces at its Riverwood factory. The customer chooses the dimensions, the timber and the finish. Custom timbers include Victorian ash and American oak, with blackwood, blackbutt, American walnut and New Zealand pine also available.
Free timber samples are posted to anyone considering a custom-made piece, anywhere in Australia, so grain and colour can be checked at home before an order is placed.
Choosing a Timber
The timbers across the two paths give buyers a wide spread of tones. Victorian ash and New Zealand pine sit at the lighter end. American oak has a warm, light tone with an open grain. Blackbutt, an Australian hardwood, is pale to mid-brown, while blackwood and American walnut are darker. Among the stock ranges, mahogany gives a deeper, traditional look and recycled elm a more rustic one.
Because the bedroom range covers every main piece a room needs, a buyer can keep to one timber and finish across the bed, bedside tables, tallboy, dresser and wardrobe.
Showroom and Delivery
The Manly Vale showroom is open on weekends, with weekday visits by appointment, for buyers who want to see timbers, finishes and furniture in person. Chocolate Wood also runs an online store and delivers Australia-wide.
