IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ferrari Foundation has named Eshaan Verma as the recipient of the 2026 Adam Ferrari Health Science Scholarship, a $20,000 award supporting students pursuing health science careers focused on providing care for patients with physical disabilities.
Verma will begin his studies at the University of Washington in Seattle this fall as a Pre-Sciences major. He plans to study data science and microbiology and ultimately pursue a career as a neuromuscular specialist, with an interest in how technology can improve the understanding and treatment of neurological conditions.
Adam Ferrari established the scholarship in honor of his father, Daniel Ferrari, who was diagnosed with transverse myelitis and became quadriplegic. Now in its fifth year, the program supports students whose education and career goals reflect a commitment to improving care and quality of life for people facing physical challenges.
Verma’s interest in health sciences has been shaped by years of helping a loved one facing mobility challenges and later working with adults with intellectual, developmental and movement disabilities. He also co-founded RideReady, an application designed to connect people facing mobility barriers with transportation to healthcare and other essential services.

My interest in health sciences was also shaped by seeing a loved one deeply affected by a medical condition, and I hope to pursue a career as a neuromuscular specialist while continuing to explore entrepreneurship and develop technology that turns the problems I’ve seen firsthand into better solutions for patients.”

For the 2026 Adam Ferrari Health Science Scholarship, eligible applicants were required to begin their first year of full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university in fall 2026, pursue a health science-related degree aligned with a career focused on providing care for patients with physical disabilities, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicants also submitted an original essay of 1,000 to 2,000 words describing their experience working with patients with physical disabilities or their motivation to pursue a career providing care to this community.
The $20,000 scholarship is paid directly to the recipient’s college or university and applied toward tuition.
